With continued fog and rain in the weather forecast over the coming weeks, visibility may be limited when driving. Please use extra caution, especially in school zones and during drop-off and pick-up times. When driving in incelement weather, it is a good idea to:

  • Leave extra time to reach your destination

  • Reduce speed

  • Leave extra space between you and the vehicle in front of you

  • Watch carefully for pedestrians and bicycles

  • Always stop for school buses when lights are flashing (it's the law!)

The National Weather Service recommends the following additional safety tips for driving in foggy conditions:

  • Use your low-beam headlights since this means your taillights will also be on. Use fog lights if you have them.

  • Never use your high-beam lights. Using high beam lights causes glare, making it more difficult for you to see what’s ahead of you on the road.

  • To ensure you are staying in the proper lane, follow the lines on the road with your eyes.

Together, we can help everyone enjoy a safe holiday season!
